The National Center for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) is the Spanish police unit responsible for preparing specialized reports on immigration and border matters. This unit was responsible for preparing the report that revealed the participation of Moroccan authorities in the Ceuta migration crisis.
According to the order from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior that develops the organic structure and functions of the central and territorial services of the General Directorate of Police, the CENIF is responsible for preparing specialized reports requested by national and international bodies.
In addition, this police unit is also responsible for strategic coordination and its operational impact regarding immigration and border issues. The report prepared by the CENIF is said to have been decisive in pointing to Morocco's responsibility in the Ceuta migration crisis.
