Registration for the Birdwatching & Nature Activities Festival is now open, with the 17th edition taking place from October 2 to 5 in Sagres. The event celebrates the autumn migration of birds and includes over 300 activities in nature, with an enhanced offering in scientific bird ringing, arts, and introductory birdwatching.
Among this year's highlights are moth photography and a sound safari. Also returning are bird observation sessions on land and at sea, walks along the Via Algarviana, and challenges for the younger participants.
The festival also includes the scientific conference "Nature in Revelation", in which researchers and experts will share work that helps us better understand the natural world.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Vila do Bispo, in partnership with the Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (SPEA-BirdLife) and Almargem Association. The full programme is available on the SPEA website.
