António Costa warns Russia this is not the time to escalate the war and extend the attitude of aggression

Correio da Manhã2 September 2026 at 11:55

António Costa warned Russia that this is not the moment to escalate the war and extend the attitude of aggression. The prime minister's statements came following a moment of diplomatic tension between several European countries.

Germany held Moscow responsible for the attack on Leipzig airport, which is believed to have contributed to the worsening of relations between Russia and Western countries.

Costa expressed his position regarding the conflict, emphasizing that any type of escalation would be counterproductive and harmful to all parties involved.
