The state of Piauí now has new rules for the practice of extreme sports and adventure tourism. The new legislation establishes minimum safety requirements that must be followed by companies and professionals offering these activities to visitors and practitioners.
The rules cover various modalities, including rappelling, zip-lining, rafting, and bungee jumping. For each of these activities, specific standards have been defined that seek to guarantee the physical integrity of participants during practice.
The legislation also determines standards regarding the training of professionals working in the sector, requiring that guides and instructors have adequate training to conduct the activities. Furthermore, criteria for the maintenance of equipment used in the practices are established.
Emergency protocols have also been included in the new legislation, defining procedures that must be followed in case of accidents or risk situations. Companies in the sector will have to adapt to the new rules to continue operating legally in the state.
