For 30 years, a GLOBO photographer chases the Moon (and has already made it 'land' in the hand of Christ)

For almost 30 years, a photographer from the newspaper O Globo has dedicated himself to photographing the Moon uninterruptedly. It all started in childhood, in Pedra de Guaratiba, when he saw the Moon with clouds shaped like Saint George passing through it. It was during this time that he also discovered the Moon's influence on the tides, and over time began to perceive its presence in everything: in emotions, in humor, in love, and in melodies.

Among his most striking photos, the photographer managed to make the Moon "land" on the hand of Christ the Redeemer. In the 1980s, he used to see postcards with photos of Christ the Redeemer at newspaper stands, which inspired his later work.

In 2010, he clicked the full moon over the towers of the Penha Church, an image that became a reference. Recently, he accompanied the coverage of the "Moon hunters" in their search for the perfect image of the Moon over the Penha Church, feeling a mix of joy and partnership in knowing they were looking for the same thing he was.

The photographer reflects that everyone has dated by moonlight, which explains the universal fascination with the satellite and justifies his continuous work of almost three decades recording the celestial body.
