A newly inaugurated suspension bridge partially gave way this Sunday (30), in Margacinta, in the province of West Java, in Indonesia, during an inauguration ceremony. Images circulating on social media show the moment the structure tilts and people fall after the detachment of a support cable.

According to local authorities, about 50 people were crossing the Pongpet Suspension Bridge simultaneously, a number that would have exceeded the weight limit planned for the structure. No one died in the incident, but several people suffered minor injuries, including the head of the Public Works Department, Ling Ling Nugraha Senjaya.

The Indonesian Army (TNI AD), which participated in the construction of the bridge, stated that the structure did not suffer a complete collapse. According to Commander Brigadier-General Donny Pramono, a suspension cable on the left side came loose from the main anchorage point, causing the tilting of the structure.

Firefighters alert: do not leave these 3 appliances plugged in while you sleep

Firefighters warn about the dangers of leaving the washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher running overnight without supervision. These appliances combine electricity, water, and high temperatures, and a malfunction can cause a fire that goes unnoticed while the family sleeps. The dryer deserves special attention due to lint buildup in the filter, which can impair ventilation. Emergency services recommend programming these appliances to run during periods when someone is awake at home, capable of detecting signs of abnormal operation and reacting quickly.
