Ventura accuses Luís Neves of "Al Capone style" and says he is "more inclined to go ahead" with motion of censure against the Government

SAPO Notícias2 September 2026 at 10:54

André Ventura, leader of Chega, is increasingly inclined to go ahead with a motion of censure against the Government. The reason is related to Luís Neves' stay in the position of Minister of Internal Administration.

Ventura accused Luís Neves of having an "Al Capone style", in a reference that suggests authoritarian or illegal practices by the minister.

This position of Ventura arises at a moment of political tension, with the leader of Chega showing himself increasingly determined to take measures against the executive.

The motion of censure represents one of the parliamentary tools available to the opposition to try to bring down the Government, and Ventura's intention may come to be carried out soon, if this position is maintained.
