More than half of young people were exposed to online hate speech during the last year. This is one of the conclusions of a report that analyzed the digital behavior of young people.
According to the report, 52% of respondents said they had seen hate messages on digital platforms. The prevalence is even higher among older teenagers.
Among young people aged 16 to 17, 72% said they had seen this type of content online. This age group proves particularly vulnerable to exposure to hate speech on social media.
The data warn of the need for greater monitoring and digital education among younger generations, especially in the adolescent age group.
