Nepal: no confirmation of rescued Portuguese and two Portuguese women remain missing

SOL1 September 2026 at 16:50

The Nepalese authorities do not confirm the rescue of one of the three Portuguese initially reported missing following a natural disaster in Nepal. The information about the rescue had been transmitted, but is now being questioned by the local authorities.

The Nepalese diplomatic representation in Portugal acknowledged the possibility that there may have been an error in the lists that were sent to the Portuguese authorities identifying the people affected by the incident.

As a result, two Portuguese citizens, both women, remain missing, while more information is awaited about the exact situation of the three nationals initially flagged as missing.

The Portuguese authorities remain in contact with the diplomatic representations on the ground to clarify the situation and obtain more details about the whereabouts of the national citizens.

Firefighters alert: do not leave these 3 appliances plugged in while you sleep

Firefighters warn about the dangers of leaving the washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher running overnight without supervision. These appliances combine electricity, water, and high temperatures, and a malfunction can cause a fire that goes unnoticed while the family sleeps. The dryer deserves special attention due to lint buildup in the filter, which can impair ventilation. Emergency services recommend programming these appliances to run during periods when someone is awake at home, capable of detecting signs of abnormal operation and reacting quickly.
