Portuguese companies reported 375 collective dismissal processes in the first seven months of the year, the highest number since 2020, the Directorate-General for Employment and Labor Relations (DGERT) revealed. This value represents an increase of 13% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo leads at the geographic level in the number of collective dismissal processes reported. However, despite the increase in the number of processes, the total number of workers effectively affected by these dismissals fell 11.4% compared to the previous period.
