Barcelos distinguished more than 100 local officials on the 98th anniversary of the city

The Municipality of Barcelos distinguished more than a hundred former and current local officials with the Medal of Honour of the City, Silver Degree. The ceremony was part of the celebrations of the 98th anniversary of Barcelos' elevation to city status.

The tribute recognised elected officials who contributed to the development of the municipality over the years. The selection of honorees reflected the commitment of these representatives to the local community.

The event took place in a particularly significant year, as it marks the celebrations of the 50 years of democratic Local Government in Portugal. This coincidence gave greater relevance to the distinction ceremony.

The Medal of Honour of the City in the Silver Degree represents the highest recognition that the municipality bestows upon figures who distinguished themselves in service to Barcelos and its citizens.
