A bus accident on the Sinai peninsula in Egypt left 16 dead and 28 injured, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Health. The passenger bus overturned on the road connecting the tourist towns of Dahab and Nuweiba, in the South Sinai province. The vehicle was carrying 43 people in total.
Ten of the fatalities were Jordanian, as reported by Jordanian state television. Of the 43 people on board, 22 were Jordanian. The accident occurred on a tourist road in the region.
Twenty ambulances were mobilized to evacuate the injured and provide first aid to the victims. So far, the causes of the accident have not been released by the Egyptian authorities.
