The Portuguese Government will begin preparing the State Budget for 2027 (SB 2027) with significant additional pressure on public accounts. This pressure is estimated at 4,783 million euros, a substantial amount that will have to be considered in preparing the budget document.
The areas that contribute most to this impact are IRC (Corporate Income Tax), housing and pensions. These three sectors represent the main financial challenges that the Executive will have to face in constructing the next State Budget.
This scenario arises in a budget preparation context in which the Government needs to find ways to balance public accounts, taking into account these additional financial obligations that have already been identified.
