The government of Rio de Janeiro launched this Wednesday the program "Management in Numbers," a state policy instituted and regulated through a decree published in the Official Gazette. The launch was made by acting Governor Ricardo Couto and seeks to expand the transparency of state public data.
The new platform, available at the address gestaoemnumeros.planejamento.rj.gov.br/inicio, offers interactive dashboards that allow citizens to answer questions about public administration. Among the accessible information is the fuel consumption of government vehicles, the location of refuelings, which agencies have the largest fleets, the main suppliers of the state, and the history of purchases made.
The program also makes it possible to consult data about public expenses with airline tickets in recent years, allowing detailed monitoring of government spending. According to the secretary of Planning and Management, Rafael Ventura Abreu, the tool significantly expands the transparency of public data.
