Iran: Tehran attacks US targets in four Middle Eastern countries again

Jornal Económico2 September 2026 at 08:01

Iran again attacked US military bases in the Middle East between Tuesday night and this Wednesday, firing drones and missiles at US installations in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq. The first attack targeted Camp Taji, a Marine Corps base in Jordan, with heavy ballistic missiles. Jordan indicated that ten Iranian missiles were intercepted and three others hit areas far from population centers, without causing casualties. Kuwait's army confirmed that its air defense systems were intercepting Iranian drones.

The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, stated that the Iranian attacks caused serious damage to the infrastructure, facilities, weapons, and equipment of the American bases, leaving a significant number of dead or wounded. Zolfaghari warned that Iran will respond to the American attacks severely and devastatingly, cautioning that countries cooperating with Washington will have to accept the consequences of that alliance.

Tehran responded thus to the American bombings carried out on Tuesday, the second attack in less than 48 hours, after a month without reciprocal aggression. Washington justified the attacks as a response to Iran's attempts at aggression against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American military personnel in the region. The first aggression, which occurred on Sunday, targeted the Iranian island of Larak, from where Tehran was preparing to launch rockets loaded with naval mines against the Strait of Hormuz, causing two deaths.
