At 50, Maria Ribeiro explores different facets of motherhood both in fiction and in real life. In the Globo soap opera "Quem ama cuida", she plays Bia, mother of Luísa (Maya Dias) and wife of doctor César (Rainer Cadete), a character who, according to the actress herself, would gain new dimensions if he separated from her.
On stage, Maria is currently showing in Copacabana with the play "O filho", where she tackles another story linked to motherhood, this time by closely following a teenager's mental health.
Away from screens and stages, Maria is mother of João, 23, from her marriage with Paulo Betti, and Bento, 16, from her union with Caio Blat. She also spoke about her long-distance relationship with musician Rica Amabis, who lives in São Paulo.
About her character Bia, Maria stated that she does not identify with her, considering her "spoiled and annoying," although she acknowledges that women like Bia exist in real life.
