Heat puts eleven districts under yellow warning on Thursday and Friday

Eleven districts in mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning due to heat on Thursday and Friday.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts that temperatures could reach 42 degrees Celsius.

The most affected regions are the interior areas located south of the Serra da Estrela.

Among the regions covered, the Vale do Tejo, Beira Baixa and Alentejo stand out.
