Nepal raised the death toll to 1,127 after the devastating floods that hit the country. The number of missing also increased to nearly 4,900 people, according to Nepali authorities.

Rescue operations are ongoing, having so far rescued 6,541 people, including 580 foreign citizens who were trapped due to the floods.

The floods were caused by heavy seasonal rains that hit Nepal in recent weeks, causing large-scale destruction in various regions of the country.
