The Prime Minister of Cabo Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, will chair the inauguration ceremony of President Carlos Vila Nova, representing the Cabo Verdean State in his capacity as president-in-office of the CPLP. The ceremony is scheduled for this Wednesday in São Tomé.

The Montenegrin prime minister, who left for São Tomé on Tuesday, will lead the Cabo Verdean official delegation on the occasion. The trip takes place within the framework of bilateral relations between the two countries and Cabo Verde's role in the international organization.

Carlos Vila Nova was re-elected President of São Tomé and Príncipe on July 19th, having secured victory in the first round of the presidential elections. The head of state obtained 55.88% of the votes cast by voters.

The inauguration ceremony marks the beginning of President Carlos Vila Nova's second term at the head of the São Tomé executive, consolidating his leadership in the country after the victory in the July elections.
