The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, asked the Director General of the Police, Francisco Pardo, to report as soon as possible on the content of a report prepared by the National Center for Immigration and Borders (CENIF). The report was reportedly sent to the National Court and would attribute to the Moroccan security forces the responsibility for the massive assault on the Ceuta border on July 30 and 31.
The information about the report's content was advanced by a media outlet, which reported that the Moroccan Security Forces and Police allegedly directed the entry of migrants during that episode. The Ministry of the Interior, through Marlaska, decided to officially request clarification from the Director General of the Police on this matter.
The incident in Ceuta, which occurred at the end of July, resulted in a significant migration crisis, with thousands of people attempting to cross the border massively. The CENIF report, according to the published information, suggests that the Moroccan authorities allegedly played an active role in organizing or directing these migratory movements.
