One year after it was announced, the process of handing over the Horta Seca building to CIP (Confederation of Portuguese Industry) continues to be negotiated by the Government for an "extended period". The property, known as Palácio do Manteigueiro, housed the Ministry of Economy for decades in Lisbon.
CIP expressed interest in keeping the building, but the handover process has not yet been completed. According to the report, there are "obligations" that the entity will have to fulfill, although the Executive refuses to specify what these obligations are.
The Ministry of Finance, responsible for the negotiation, did not provide details on the current state of the talks nor on the nature of the pending obligations. The process remains ongoing, but without clear prospects for conclusion.
