Feijóo and Abascal Lead Rallies in Support of Ceuta as Prelude to Sánchez's Explanations

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General2 September 2026 at 06:24

Ceuta remains at the center of national political life. This Wednesday, a rally in support of Ceuta will be held on the occasion of Ceuta Day in front of the Madrid City Council, a rare image in Spanish politics.

The protagonists of this mobilization will be Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal, who will jointly lead the rally. The two political leaders will be together in this initiative, although maintaining their separate positions.

This rally serves as a prelude to the explanations that the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, must offer to citizens. The fact that Ceuta is at the epicenter of current political news justifies the mobilization of both parties at this time.

The event in front of the Madrid City Hall represents one of the few times that Feijóo and Abascal appear together in public, even though each maintains their own strategy and political discourse.
