Apple announced that new CEO John Ternus will receive a compensation package valued at approximately $58 million in fiscal year 2027, while Tim Cook will be compensated at approximately $47 million for his new role as executive chairman of the board. The company disclosed the information in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Tuesday, coinciding with Ternus's first day as CEO.
Ternus will receive an annual base salary of $3 million and will be entitled, next year, to a stock grant with a target value of $55 million. Cook, 65, is passing the helm to Ternus after 15 years leading the company, during which Apple expanded into new product categories and raised its annual revenue to nearly half a trillion dollars.
