After representatives of the government and Congress reached an agreement, the provisional measure on ending the "blusinha tax" is expected to be voted on this Wednesday. The text exempts international purchases of up to US$ 20 from the 20% charge.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between the speakers of the Chamber, Hugo Motta, of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, the rapporteur of the MP, senator Leila Barros, the chairman of the joint committee analyzing the measure, deputy Reginaldo Lopes, and the Planning minister, Bruno Moretti.
The vote by the joint committee had been postponed twice. Initially the analysis was scheduled for Monday, then rescheduled for this Tuesday, and is now expected to take place on Wednesday.
