The Judicial Police has requested international assistance to identify and stop the members of the notorious "Rolex gang", an organized group dedicated to stealing luxury watches in various parts of the country. Investigators from the Lisbon Department have already identified two of the thieves involved in a specific attack that occurred in the capital.
The attack in question targeted a wealth manager and his companion, who were robbed in Lisbon. One of the two identified thieves died at the very scene of the crime, which could help authorities advance the investigation through evidence left at the location.
This case is part of a series of luxury watch thefts attributed to the gang, which has operated in a coordinated manner in different regions of Portugal. International collaboration aims to trace possible connections the group may have with criminal networks in other countries and to track down stolen goods.
Authorities hope that the identification of suspects and international cooperation will make it possible to dismantle the gang's structure and prevent further similar attacks, particularly against individuals with high net worth.
