Gabriel Mec arrives at FC Porto to be polished and gain muscle

Correio da Manhã2 September 2026 at 01:30

The young 18-year-old Brazilian footballer Gabriel Mec arrived at FC Porto to strengthen the Portuguese club. The forward is described as a developing player, with potential to be polished and gain more experience in European football.

Mec recently turned down a proposal from Shakhtar Donetsk, a Ukrainian club that plays in the Champions League. The choice for FC Porto thus represented his preference over the Ukrainian club.

Regarding the financial aspect, the Brazilian will earn around 600 thousand euros per year at the Dragão, a significant amount for a player of his age and that reflects the club's bet on his potential.

Flamengo evaluates going to FIFA against Russians after Plata's failure in medical exams

Flamengo is evaluating taking action at FIFA against Dynamo Moscow after the Russians rejected the signing of Gonzalo Plata in medical exams. The red-and-black club understands that the decision was unjustified, since the Ecuadorian was fully fit to play, had been playing normally for Flamengo and the Ecuadorian national team, and has no history of serious injuries. The directors are evaluating all possibilities for compensation and intend to pressure the Russians so they don't act this way with other clubs. With the failed medical exams, Plata lost market value, and Flamengo will not attempt a new sale of the player until the end of the transfer window.
