A special team from the Public Security Police managed to detect and arrest six pickpockets in a period of just seven days. The arrests took place in Lisbon's historic center, an area frequently targeted by this type of crime.
The PSP officers who are part of this specialized team were focused on monitoring and acting against pickpocket activity in that area of the Portuguese capital.
One of the arrested individuals was eventually released, despite having several recorded arrests since early 2024. This situation raises questions about the effectiveness of precautionary measures applied to suspects with a repeat criminal history.
