DNA of missing Portuguese women to be sent to Nepal
Portuguese authorities will send DNA of missing national citizens to Nepal, as part of the investigations into the mortal victims of the aircraft accident that occurred in that country. A Portuguese citizen who was missing has already been located and found alive.
Due to the lack of capacity at local morgues, Nepali authorities are being forced to bury the bodies of victims without being able to identify them. This situation complicates the process of formal recognition and notification of deaths to families.
The aircraft accident in Nepal involved an aircraft with civilians of various nationalities, including Portuguese, resulting in multiple mortal victims. Identification operations are facing serious logistical difficulties in the field.
