New TVDE law comes into force and allows taxis to be integrated on platforms

The new TVDE law comes into force this Tuesday, September 1, introducing significant changes in the passenger transport sector through electronic platforms in Portugal.

The main novelty of this legislation is the possibility for taxis to also operate under the TVDE regime, something that was not previously permitted.

The law also redefines the TVDE acronym itself, which now means remunerated passenger transport in vehicles of a specific category.

The law was originally published by NoticiasLX and aims to update the legal framework that regulates this activity in Portugal.
