The G20 finance ministers defended the need to guarantee safe and cost-free navigation in the Strait of Ormuz, during a summit held in the United States.
Scott Bessent assured that the presence of the Russian finance minister at the meeting had no impact on the outcomes of the discussions. The G20 joint communiqué did not directly mention Iran, although it addressed the issue of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Ormuz, a crucial maritime passage for world oil trade.
