Workers in commerce and tourism managed to approve, in assembly, a salary increase of 6.6%, in addition to advances in benefits. The index will be granted by employers represented by the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism (Fecomério), which represents more than 442 thousand establishments, corresponding to approximately two-thirds of the economic activity of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to commerce workers and tourism workers, the same index of 6.6% was approved for other categories, including workers in Retail Trade of Electrical Materials, Electronics and Home Appliances, Real Estate Brokers of Rio, Retail Trade of Parts and Accessories for Vehicles, and Retail Trade of Jewelry of the Municipality of Rio.
Good news also for supermarket and produce workers, represented by the Rio Commerce Workers' Union (SEC-RJ), who achieved a 6% raise. The association represents approximately 300 thousand commerce workers in the state.
According to the article, the result was seen as a victory that reinforces the importance of the union when negotiating and pressuring for better conditions for the category.
