The PSP Madeira celebrates today 148 years of presence in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, an anniversary that marks nearly a century and a half of existence. The commemorative ceremony took place at the Madeira Press Museum, located in Câmara de Lobos.
The anniversary celebrates the public service rendered by the PSP to the Region, the proximity to local populations and the security mission that the police force has carried out in Madeira for nearly 150 years. The milestone of 1877 marks the beginning of this police presence in the region.
The event featured the participation of several regional and national entities, who came together to commemorate this significant date in the history of the Public Security Police in Madeira.
