Einstein announces leave of absence for Claudio Luiz Lottenberg

Einstein Hospital Israelita announced on Tuesday that the president of the Deliberative Council, Claudio Luiz Lottenberg, is on leave from his duties related to the governance of the Brazilian Israeli Beneficent Society Albert Einstein. The leave will be effective until the end of the electoral period.

The decision was made after Senator and presidential candidate, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), stated last week during a Globo TV interview, that he intends to appoint physician Claudio Lottenberg to the Ministry of Health if elected in October.

The hospital stated in a note that the decision is in compliance with Einstein's Code of Ethics, which requires absolute political neutrality from its members. The rule also prohibits the use of the institution's assets and resources for political purposes.
