Donald Trump believes that the fourth attempt at a meeting with Kim Jong-un will be the definitive one, expressing optimism about a potential agreement with North Korea. However, the North Korean leader does not show the same enthusiasm regarding a new encounter with the American president.

South Korean intelligence services bet on the possibility of a bilateral meeting between the United States and North Korea this year, suggesting there is some basis for this expectation on Seoul's part.

The desire for a new encounter is clearly stronger on Trump's part than on Kim Jong-un's, who appears to be less interested in resuming diplomatic negotiations with Washington at this time.
