The Portuguese Association of Brasília received on August 29 a delegation of council members from the Brazil Section of the Council of Portuguese Communities. The visit was part of the official programming of the body's annual meeting, held in Brasília between August 27 and 29.
The delegation was received by the Vice President of the Association, Ciro Freitas, and was also attended by representatives of the Women's Nucleus of the Portuguese Association, created in the second half of 2026, as well as members of the Brazil-Portugal Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest.
During the visit, the council members learned about the Association's structure, exchanged experiences about the challenges of the Portuguese and Lusodescendant community, and ended the programming with a fellowship lunch.
According to Ciro Freitas, the Portuguesa plays an important role in Brasília due to its structure and strategic location, close to populous administrative regions of the Federal District. President Sandro Pimentel highlighted that encounters like this strengthen the institution and that the intention is to keep the Association increasingly present and connected with the community and with Portugal.
