Seop collects corn carts parked in the mud and tied to a tree at Aterro do Flamengo

The Municipal Secretary of Public Order (Seop) collected in the early morning of this Tuesday (1st) about one ton of equipment from corn vendors that were stored irregularly at Aterro do Flamengo, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The carts were found parked on mud at Station 3 of the leisure area, after the rains of the last weekend.

Images taken by frequent visitors of the site and shared on social media showed a large pot without a lid, with corn exposed, in addition to the equipment tied to a tree. Another record, made at the height of the Belmonte restaurant, showed a woman cleaning corn next to a trash bin while another person placed the food in a pot.

The corn carts are used by street vendors who work in the area of Aterro do Flamengo. The accumulation of abandoned equipment on the mud generated controversy and drew the attention of visitors of the leisure area, resulting in inspection and collection by Seop.
