Federal Supreme Court (STF) Minister André Mendonça handled with maximum secrecy a request made last week for the Federal Police to identify interlocutors of messages extracted from Daniel Vorcaro's cell phone. The Federal Police response came within 72 hours, a deadline set by the minister himself for identifying the interlocutors of the messages sent by the banker.
The messages cited serious content, including a request for protection through the chief of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, and the Attorney General of Brazil, Paulo Gonet. Mendonça's colleague on the STF, Alexandre de Moraes, was the recipient of the messages that Vorcaro exchanged about Operation Compliance Zero, which would result in the banker's arrest at the end of 2025.
Mendonça did not even inform the PGR about the police report that showed the conversations between Vorcaro and Moraes. Over the weekend, the minister—who is the rapporteur of the Banco Master investigations—sought out STF President Edson Fachin and reported to him the content of the messages deemed explosive.
