José Luís Carneiro, who is in Maputo, considered that Prime Minister Luís Montenegro should not give "reasons" to Chega regarding the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) case. The warning arises in the context of a political dispute related to the investigation involving the Ministry.
Carneiro warned that the prolongation of this case "degrades the political authority of the State". This position reinforces the concern about the institutional consequences of the continuation of this controversy.
The Minister of Internal Administration also left the responsibility in the hands of the Prime Minister, suggesting that the resolution of the situation should be handled at the highest level of the executive.
Carneiro's position was conveyed during his visit to Maputo, Mozambique, where official commitments are taking place within the framework of bilateral relations between the two countries.
