Minister Dias Toffoli, from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), suspended on Tuesday the limitations imposed on the campaign of Renan Santos (Missão) for President. The magistrate's decision represented a reconsideration of his own previous determination that restricted the candidate's activities.
With the new decision, Renan Santos's participation in electoral debates was released, in addition to the possibility of campaign financing. The restrictions had generated criticism within the court itself, which may have motivated the minister's review of the case.
Renan Santos is running for the position of President of the Republic for the Missão party. The case is under update, and more details about the reasons for the previous restrictions and subsequent release have not yet been disclosed.
