The revelations of messages exchanged between Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), and banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, are generating reverberation in the National Congress. The message exchange was revealed after Minister André Mendonça lifted the secrecy from a Federal Police investigation that gathers these communications.
The investigation is part of the inquiries related to the Master case and also involves lawyer Viviane Barci de Moraes, the magistrate's wife. The messages between Vorcaro and Moraes are now part of the inquiry that is proceeding under secrecy.
The opposition leadership in the Chamber of Deputies, led by Deputy Cabo Gilberto Silva, announced the filing of a new impeachment request against Alexandre de Moraes. Opposition members in the Senate also defended the removal of the minister, such as Senator Damares Alves, who stated on social media that Moraes should leave the position to preserve the independence of the institution.
Leaders of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies are expected to hold a joint press conference at the end of this Tuesday afternoon (1st) to speak about the topic.
