The Constitution and Justice Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro approved on Tuesday the extension of the deadline for adhesion to the IPVA em Dia program, which now runs until November 30. Bill 7.464/2026 modifies Law 10.433/2024, which establishes the installment payment program for overdue Property Tax on Automotive Vehicles.
The program allows the installment payment of IPVA debts from the fiscal years 2024, 2025, and 2026 in up to 12 installments without interest. Originally, the deadline to adhere to the program ended on November 30, 2025.
The text also authorizes the vehicle owner to carry out the annual licensing according to the calendar published by Detran-RJ, starting from the payment of the first installment of the agreement made in the program.
The bill also provides that failure to pay the installments of the agreement will result in the suspension of the vehicle's licensing.
