Cachoeiras and Senhora da Ajuda in celebration

The month of September is traditionally known for being generous in popular festivities in the region. Various localities celebrate their patron saints during this period.

The village of Cachoeiras, in the municipality of Vila Franca, will be in celebration from Friday to Sunday. The traditional festivities are in honour of Nossa Senhora da Purificação.

From September 4 to 10, the Festas in Honour of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda also take place, in the village of the same name, located in the municipality of Arruda dos Vinhos.

The Festas das Cachoeiras start on the 4th with bull releases and a night of fado.
