The Secretary-General of the PS, Carneiro, stated today that the case involving Minister Luís Neves is causing a degradation of the political authority of the State. This position arises in the context of a political crisis related to the Ministry of Internal Administration.

Carneiro declared that the prime minister should not provide reasons that allow the so-called "pyrotechnic effects" of the Chega party. The expression apparently refers to the political consequences that the far-right party has been obtaining from this situation.

The case surrounding Minister Luís Neves has been generating significant political tensions, with the PS showing concern about the impact on the institutional credibility of the State. The PS position aims to halt the political exploitation of the situation by Chega.

The socialist party thus maintains a critical stance towards the prime minister, drawing attention to the need to preserve the authority of the State and prevent incidents like this from being used for partisan political purposes.
