Luís Neves, Minister of Internal Administration, has as his mission to defeat Chega and its leader André Ventura. This position was presented by CNN Portugal commentator Miguel Pinheiro, who analyzed the minister's posture.

According to Miguel Pinheiro, Luís Neves has now started to "run on his own track," meaning to act independently within the executive. The commentator states that the minister directly assumed the fight against populism.

However, Miguel Pinheiro highlights that this is not the strategy of the Government as a whole. The position of the Minister of Internal Administration thus represents an individual approach within the Portuguese executive.
