The investigation into the alleged involvement of Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court, with former banker Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master, now depends on approval from the Full Court of the highest Court. According to the internal rules of the STF, the main collegiate body of the Court, composed of the eleven justices, is responsible for prosecuting and judging authorities such as the Court's own members.
The information linking Vorcaro to Moraes is being analyzed by the Attorney General's Office. In a ruling signed this Monday, the case rapporteur, Justice André Mendonça, established a five-day deadline for the PGR to respond to the Federal Police report detailing the messages exchanged between Moraes and Vorcaro.
After the Attorney General's Office's response, it will be up to the president of the STF, Justice Edson Fachin, to schedule the date of the case's hearing by the Full Court. When lifting the secrecy from the case, Mendonça highlighted that, regardless of the PGR's position, the inevitable path of the case leads to the Full Court of the Supreme.
