Monte Palace Disputes a Place in the Final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal

Monte Palace Madeira is one step away from securing a place in the grand national final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal 2026. The Madeiran Tropical Garden competes on Saturday, September 5th, in the national semi-final of the contest in a live TVI broadcast from the National Palace of Sintra, scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM.

Among the 49 heritage sites that reached this phase of the contest, only 21 will move forward to the next stage of the competition. The contest format divides the candidates into seven distinct categories.

In each of the seven categories, the three most voted heritage sites by the public will be selected, which means the final ranking will depend exclusively on viewer votes. Monte Palace Madeira thus competes to secure its passage among the most voted candidates in its category.
