Alentejo hosts annual meeting of Swedish travel sector association

Rádio Campanário1 September 2026 at 19:11

Alcácer do Sal hosts, between September 1 and 3, the Annual Meeting of Svenska Resebranschföreningen (SRF), an association representing Swedish travel agencies and tour operators. The event brings together in the Alentejo several dozen professionals involved in travel programming, distribution and sales.

The SRF represents more than 300 Swedish companies, including travel agencies, tour operators, incoming companies and event organizers. Founded in 1937, the association is also a member of ECTAA, the European organization representing national associations of the sector.

In addition to the working agenda in Alcácer do Sal, the program includes a familiarization trip through Alcácer do Sal, Comporta, Grândola and Évora. The route allows participants to learn about the connections between the coast and the interior, evaluate distances and understand how different points of the territory can be combined in a travel proposal aimed at the Swedish market.

The fam tour will showcase different landscapes and ways of experiencing the Alentejo: Alcácer do Sal's relationship with the Sado River, the coastal atmosphere of Comporta, the rural identity of Grândola and the heritage of Évora. The expectation of the Regional Tourism Promotion Agency of Alentejo is that the event will result in new programming, greater presence of Alentejo in Swedish sales channels and future opportunities for collaboration with the region's tourism sector.
