Infarmed, the medicines regulatory authority in Portugal, withdrew from the market a batch of the medication Salofalk, which is used to treat intestinal inflammations. The recall decision was made by the health authorities.
Despite the withdrawal of the medication, Infarmed warned that patients who are currently using this treatment should not discontinue use of the medication without first consulting their attending physician. This recommendation aims to ensure patient safety and avoid complications in the treatment of their conditions.
The measure applies only to a specific batch of the medication, not necessarily affecting all units of Salofalk available on the market.
