The Environment Minister, Maria da Graça Carvalho, publicly acknowledged the existence of problems in the implementation of the Volta System, a packaging deposit system. The government official specifically addressed issues related to the inadequate disposal of packaging by consumers.

Maria da Graça Carvalho assured that the identified situations are being analyzed and that measures are already being taken for their resolution. The minister also defended the need to implement greater enforcement in the system.

Regarding the resolution of the problems, the minister highlighted the importance of municipal involvement in the management and monitoring of the Volta System. This involvement will be essential to guarantee the correct functioning of the packaging deposit system.

The Volta System aims to promote the collection and recycling of packaging, but its implementation has faced practical challenges that require attention from the competent authorities and different levels of governance.
