The Minister of Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, considered that the Prime Minister should not give explanations for the 'pyrotechnic effects' that the proximity of Chega to the Ministry has been generating.

José Luís Carneiro stated that the situation 'is degrading the political authority of the State', considering this is a question about which 'no Portuguese has any doubts'.

The minister left the responsibility for this issue in the hands of Luís Montenegro, suggesting that the resolution or explanation of this situation falls on the Prime Minister.

The Chega party has been maintaining proximity to the Ministry of Internal Administration, which has generated controversy and criticism from other political forces.
